It was noon and the day had already gone to hell. My last couple classes left me feeling really low and I still had dental ROP for three and a half hours. When I got to class something unexpected happened. We've been working in radiology and a booking mistake produced a hole in the schedule. I quickly claimed the vacant time-slot and called my patient in. To become certified for radiology, I have to pass four live patient x-ray sets. Now yesterday I had failed my first patient, so I was a little apprehensive about jumping into my second without any additional practice...
An hour later, I passed! This was really cool because it pulled me out of the funk I was feeling earlier. It's funny how you can change from feeling down in the dumps to accomplished and worthwhile.
I feel really scatter-brained right now, but here's the main point - life is what you make of it. Don't worry about the little things and hold on to what you know is true. If you want to do something, do it. Don't let a previous failure determine your next chance.
p.s. Some girls are malicious... yikes!
