Back!

What up guys, it's been a while but I'm happy to be back. It's been a long and exciting weekend and I have lots to tell.

So first, my best friend Trevor and I when down to Huntington Beach to DJ our friend Chelse's 16th birthday party. We had Dj'd one of her previous parties so this time we came prepared with a fully made four hour set list. We let the set play and had a great time.

The next day we had an awesome breakfast at the Sugar Shack on Main street. I ordered Eggs Benedict with hasbrowns and fruit. After, we went shopping, hung out on the beach, and watched the surfers. Some chick on a short board was ripping it up. Finally, Trev and I headed over a town to Newport to Trevor's on-the-water beach house. We had sushi on the boardwalk (complements of Mr. Klar) and called it a night.

The next day the Klars threw a party at the beach house. My night included: Sushi platers, rock band, poker, cute girls, boats with lights, bad jokes, more rock band, DDR, fireworks, and the dark knight. Then we crashed and it was back to the SCV the next day.

Overall, my weekend was amazing. I learned a lot of things, especially about risk. It's funny how you can do something effortlessly when there is no risk involved, but the second you factor in that risk, you seem to make all the wrong moves. And this risk can be anything; money, reputation, danger, emotions. Life is to short to take the safe way all the time. I think we all need to take a little more risk sometimes and do things like stand up for what you believe in, help that person on the side of the road, say hi to the person you've know since seventh grade, kiss that girl... the list goes on and on. Bottom line is: It's your life, make it.

Useful Radiation.

Mixed emotion. No two words could better describe my day today.

It was noon and the day had already gone to hell. My last couple classes left me feeling really low and I still had dental ROP for three and a half hours. When I got to class something unexpected happened. We've been working in radiology and a booking mistake produced a hole in the schedule. I quickly claimed the vacant time-slot and called my patient in. To become certified for radiology, I have to pass four live patient x-ray sets. Now yesterday I had failed my first patient, so I was a little apprehensive about jumping into my second without any additional practice...

An hour later, I passed! This was really cool because it pulled me out of the funk I was feeling earlier. It's funny how you can change from feeling down in the dumps to accomplished and worthwhile.

I feel really scatter-brained right now, but here's the main point - life is what you make of it. Don't worry about the little things and hold on to what you know is true. If you want to do something, do it. Don't let a previous failure determine your next chance.

p.s. Some girls are malicious... yikes!

Blogosphere?

I'm new to the "Blogoshpere" and this will be my first post - honestly, I just wanted to put something down...

A new page of my life is kicking off, while simultaneously kicking me in the butt. These last few weeks have been the busiest of my life, but I have never enjoyed myself more. This month should be the last of my college application horrors, and then it's smooth sailing 'till spring break :)

I think I am really going to enjoy this whole blogging thing.

More to come in the future! Stay tuned!
